      Minnesota Space Grant Consortium announced the “Secret Message Challenge” for the 2025-2026 Midwest High-Power Rocketry Competition taking place May 16-17, 2026. Information meeting on September 15 at 7 p.m. Non-binding NOIs are due September 30.  WSGC teams can apply for funding through the National Competitions and Programs funding opportunity.

      BioPharmaceutical Technology Center Institute invites teachers to attend a hands-on, practical experience that will build your confidence in modern bioscience techniques and empower you to bring cutting-edge science into your classroom.  Earn credit certificates and badges. Full scholarships available. Workshop dates: June 16-19 (Session 1) and July 14-17 (Session 2).

WSGC Student Spotlight: Sydney Pelnar

Congratulations to this week’s #WSGCStudentSpotlight, Sydney Pelnar! Sydney is the recipient of the 2022-2023 WSGC Undergraduate Scholarship.

Sydney Pelnar is an undergraduate student at Carthage College majoring in Astrophysics. Sydney has participated in countless WSGC projects, including those in Modal Proponent Gauging and CubeSats. She enjoys anything involving space and the fundamentals of the universe. Sydney intends to pursue a career in astrophysics and aerospace engineering.
