Congratulations to this week’s #WSGCStudentSpotlight, Emily O’Leary! Emily is the recipient of the 2022-2023 WSGC Undergraduate Scholarship.
Emily O’Leary just finished her final year at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where she majored in Physics and minored in Astronomy and Mathematics. She was involved in research alongside one of her professors focusing on RR Lyrae stars within the Large Magellenic Cloud. Her interest in astronomy began at a young age and was reinvigorated in the summer of 2021 when she visited the Lowell Observatory in Arizona. After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Physics, she intends to attend graduate school to receive her PhD in Astronomy. For her future, Emily plans to pursue research in cosmology or astrophysics.
Congratulations, Emily, and best of luck in your future!
