Congratulations to this week’s #WSGCStudentSpotlight, Ainsley Salisbury! Ainsley is a recipient of the 2022-2023 WSGC Undergraduate Scholarship and the WSGC Undergraduate Research Scholarship.
Growing up as a twin, Ainsley became interested in heritability and genetics. That interest became a passion during high school biology classes, which led her to pursue a degree in Genetics and Genomics at UW Madison. Upon learning about UW Madison’s Gilroy Lab and their work with understanding plant responses and applications to space flight, Ainsley was inspired to join the project. Under the guidance of Dr. Jessica Fernandez, she now studies the stress response in plants, working to advance the understanding of plant growth with molecular and synthetic biology.
Congratulations, Ainsley, and best of luck in the future!
