Mileage Reimbursement Rate Updated

STEM QueSST Grant Supports X-59 Overflights
Read “STEM QueSST Grant Supports X-59 Overflights”Imagine hearing a gentle sonic “thump” instead of a loud boom as a plane breaks the sound barrier. NASA is developing the X-59, an experimental aircraft designed to exceed the speed of sound while minimizing noise impact on communities below. As part of the QUESST (Quiet Supersonic Technology) mission, NASA plans to conduct community flyovers to assess public perception of this quieter supersonic flight.
To support this initiative, the Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium, the Center for Space Research, Geneva Lake Astrophysics and STEAM, and The Everett Group are collaborating to develop STEM-focused community engagement programs. These programs aim to ascertain what individuals hear during the QUESST flyovers and gather feedback on the experience. If selected by NASA, these initiatives will be implemented in flyover communities beginning in 2025.

Embedded Teacher Program Preparing for Zero-Gravity Flight
WSGC’s Embedded Teacher Program will take flight May 9-12, 202 on ZERO-G’s G-Force One Aircraft. Conducting experiments in 11 minutes of weightlessness will be four middle school teachers from Wisconsin, Georgia, Iowa and Texas. 2022 Midwest Regional Space Grant Directors Meeting
Wisconsin Space Grant will host the biennial midwest regional meeting of Space Grant staff at the Wingspread Retreat and Executive Conference Center on July 25-26, 2002. Embedded Teacher Program Applications Open
STEAM Teachers, attend a workshop on microgravity science, develop experiment proposals, and meet other space educators.
